Immunizations not only help to protect your child against many serious childhood diseases, they protect the health of other students. Immunizations are an important piece in providing your student with a healthy environment in which to learn. Different states have different laws regarding the vaccines necessary to attend school. Below are those required in order to attend school in Massachusetts.
Failure to provide the school nurse with documentation of these immunizations is cause for exclusion from school. A copy of your child's immunization record will be given to your child upon graduation. Most colleges will require this information prior to allowing the student to attend classes. It is suggested that you keep this record or a copy of it, in your family health file for future reference.
